about the search for mounting-points on bikes

We were fed up with saddlebags that were attached with straps that wobbled when you were pedaling, and whose contents had to be compressed so that the bag sat securely. But what universal and durable fixing points are there on a bike, given the variety of seat posts and frames?

Two-point clamps, where the seat stays are clamped behind the seat post, have been around for a long time, but they are not very strong and put stress on the material of the seat stays. That's when we came up with the idea of developing a mounting system that is connected to the seat stays at four points. After various tests, we applied for a patent for the idea and the Y-Mount was born.

With Simon's expertise in carbon technologies and my ultra-cycling experience, we then developed bags and other accessories for the Y-Mount. We still have plenty of ideas for the future, and you will soon be able to discover their implementation here in the shop.

competence in carbon fiber

With the 3D layup technology developed and optimized by Carbonworks over the course of more than 10 years, we are able to manufacture complex carbon parts and place the fibers in a three-dimensional alignment, precisely at the stress points. This allows us to achieve enormous strengths with minimal use of materials. Only high-quality carbon fibers from Germany are used for our products.

polished visible carbon

Our carbon parts have polished surfaces and do not require paint or filler. The beauty of the visible fiber structures gives each piece a noble and individual appearance.
